"I’ve upgraded to FileMaker 16 and now Snap2FM won’t work!"
FileMaker 16 has new security controls that are set to block access by default. In the file that contains the scan script called by Snap2FM, you must update the Extended Privileges.
"I installed the connector app, but now the ScanSnap software can’t find it.
The heuristic threat detection in some Antivirus programs think Snap2FM looks suspicious. It’s probably the bell-bottoms. The connector app is NOT infected with anything, but in this scenario, you need to add an exception and then re-install the connector App. You may need to temporarily disable antivirus, install the connector app, add the exception, and then re-enable antivirus.
"The Snap2FM Connector app installation fails."
We’re using a standard FileMaker script to install this file. Either the user doesn’t have administrative access to Program Files or Applications or the Operating System security no longer allows FileMaker to copy anything into these folders. However, you can manually install the connector app. Switch the Snap2FM demo to layout mode, and then change to the Preferences_dev layout. Right-click and manually export either the Mac or Windows connector app. This file can go anywhere – we try to put it in Program Files or Applications so that users won’t remove it. You can put this file anywhere as long as your ScanSnap Profile points to it.
"The Snap2FM preferences install fails."
We’re using a standard FileMaker script to install this file. Due to changes to Operating System security, the export to the standard user paths may be blocked. If so, you can manually install the preferences file. You can edit the Export Prefs script, or ask us for a new file and run the Export Prefs Manually script. To edit the Export Prefs script, just change the Export Records script step. Turn dialog On, and uncheck Specify Output File. Re-run the Preferences Install, and save the file to the Desktop or Documents folder. Once you’ve done this you must manually place the file in ~/Library/Preferences on Mac, or ~/AppData/Local on Windows”
